Poetry: Chaos Machines

Zeroes and ones are not innocent
Don’t let the “news” fool you twice
The binary eaters were born amid war
And they’ll die for a similar vice

They’ve always propped up the conmen
They’ve always empowered the cruel
Glossy UIs only hide the intent:
The manufactured consent is the fuel

Each year, the private diminishes
Each year, big data expands
As a glutton, it has no end in sight
It will devour the whole of the land

In control is the hound on a mission
Born and raised in the loftiest heights
Trained itself to think money is heaven
While it sniffs out its violent delights

The end state is one great mirage
At sunset, it will cease to be seen
Revealing the ruin of unfettered greed
Wrought by the chaos machines
